Taiwan conducts a live fire military drill simulating a Chinese invasion of a major military base on the Island.
The 45-minute exercise dispatched fighter jets, attack helicopters, and tanks.
Taiwan's President Ma Ying-jeou reviewed the drill.
He said that Taiwan will develop a strategic defence plan in the next four years, with plans to buy needed weapons from overseas.
Tensions have been high between China and Taiwan since a civil war in 1949 split the two nations.
