The Chinese government has closed Tibet to foreign visitors, tourist agencies operating there say.
The news comes ten days after two Tibetans set fire to themselves.
Beijing has not given any reason for the move, which comes at the start of a Buddhist festival that traditionally sees tourists flock to the region.
