The floods in Pakistan have wiped out thousands of hectares of crops, ruining the livelihoods of millions.

Pakistani and UN officials estimate that 80% of the food stock has been destroyed in this country.

The cost of the crops destroyed amount to up to $1bn, according to the World Bank.

The government is concerned about how it is going to feed its population of more than 170 million over the next few months.
