An Israeli soldier has been charged with manslaughter in an Israeli court for the deaths of two Palestinian women during Israe's war on Gaza.

Majda Abu Hajaj and her 64-year-old mother were shot dead while carrying white flags they made out of bed sheets near their homes after the Israeli army forced the women to leave their house.

But the victims' relatives say they have have no faith in Israel's justice system, especially since it has taken 18 months for the case to be filed in court.

It is the first time an Israeli soldier has been charged with killing a civilian during the war, in which more than 1,400 Palestinians were killed.
