Justin Bieber hurt himself at his Paris concert. The singer ran into a glass wall backstage and suffered a mild concussion. He was able to finish the show, and later sent a Twitter message to fans saying he was going to be fine.
Madonna kicked off her new world tour in Israel. The MDNA show featured several dance routines, including a baton-twirling performance in cheerleader formation. After Israel, Madonna continues on to more than 20 European and Middle Eastern cities, followed by a tour of North and South America and Australia.
David Beckham delighted some London children when he paid a surprise visit to their school. Beckham wanted to praise the kids for their efforts in promoting Paralympic sports.
Finally, director Michael Mann will lead the jury at this year's Venice Film Festival. Mann is behind numerous box office hits, like "Ali," "Collateral," and "Heat." The 69-year-old will help decide the winner of Venice's prestigious Golden Lion prize. The festival will run from August 29 to September 08.
