Goals for fighting climate change set by the world's biggest polluters are inadequate, the United Nations has said.
The US, China and the European Union were among 50 nations that met a UN deadline on February 1 to submit pledges to cut greenhouse gas emissions.
But experts say those pledges fall short of what is actually needed, and only repeat commitments made before last December's climate summit in Copenhagen.
