Hong Kong is famous for its skyline, but that view is often hidden behind a thick blanket of smog.

Air pollution reached dangerous levels one in every eight days in 2009.

Researchers say it has already cost the territory more than $14m this year, in health costs and lost productivity.

Al Jazeera's Rob McBride reports from Hong Kong.
