STORY: Police in Oslo said fourteen girls had to be taken to hospital with minor injuries during a free Justin Bieber concert in Oslo on Wednesday (May 30).
Thousands of people, mostly young girls, packed the square in central Oslo near the opera to see their idol sing.
Around one hundred police and other security personnel tried to keep the crowd calm as the square filled up hours before the concert was due to start.
According to police, 49 girls received minor injuries while 14 were taken by ambulance to the emergency services. There were no reports of serious injuries.
The 18-year-old Canadian pop star was in Oslo for the kick-off of his European tour for his new album "Believe".
