Classic Game Room presents a CGRundertow video game review of Dragon Age II from BioWare and Electronic Arts (EA) for the Xbox 360. Derek isn't all that familiar with BioWare's popular Dragon Age games, so consider this a review from the perspective of a gamer just discovering what the series is about. Consider this an evaluation free of the hyperbole that fanhood so often provokes. And frankly, consider this the mea culpa of a Dragon Age II convert. The story is overhyped...something is happening with this guy, his sister and their mom, they have to escape and people get stabbed with swords. In terms of the broader gameplay, though, Dragon Age II is a big 30-hour action RPG with a versatile, if fundamentally standard, combat system. You're hacking and slashing for the most part, but there's also an impressive degree of nuance here, as well.
