Shelling and protests in Syria

Amateur video out of Syria appears to show the continued shelling of Homs.

The video, which could not be independently verified by Reuters comes some six weeks after the UN pushed for a ceasefire plan in Syria. Now the UN says both sides are committing human rights abuses.

And yet the demonstrations go on across the country.

The UN says it can no longer track casualties in the uprising, after estimating at least 9,000 people have been killed in Syria since the uprising began last March. The government says more than 2,600 members of its security forces have been killed in the unrest.
