The blind Chinese activist who made a daring escape from house arrest to the US embassy in Beijing, is demanding that officials be punished for his persecution.
Chen Guangcheng has blamed authorities in Shandong province for his alleged abuse and false imprisonment.
Chen was first jailed in 2006 for four years for inciting a crowd to destroy property and cause disruption. Freed in 2010, he was then put under house arrest until his escape.
Immediately after leaving the US embassy, Chen insisted that he be allowed to go to the US, a demand the Chinese authorities have cautiously handled.
