5 New and Scary Theme Park Rides for 2012 - as part of the travel series by GeoBeats.
Here are 5 of the Newest and Scariest Theme Park Rides Across the U.S. and Canada
Number 5 – Six Flags Magic Mountain in Los Angeles is introducing ‘Lex Luthor: Drop of Doom’ for summer 2012. Adrenaline seekers drop from 400 feet elevation at a whopping 85 miles per hour: the brakes finally kick in while you’re just several feet from the ground!
Number 4 –Tennessee is home to the beloved theme park, Dollywood, which recently introduced the ride called ‘Wild Eagle’. Thrill seekers ride on the side on the track, making them feel as though they are open air flying at 21 stories high over the Smokey Mountains.
Number 3 – Canada’ Wonderland in Ontario is introducing the ‘Leviathan’ coaster. The track is more than a mile long and more than 300 feet high with the first drop plummeting roughly 90 miles an hour!
Number 2 – SeaWorld San Diego has added ‘Manta’ for the 2012 season and while it is not sky high, it is stomach butterfly inducing in a very unique way. Constantly spinning and twisting, the ride gets scarily close to rocks while sideways skimming the waters and heading underground for some bat ray viewing.
Number 1 – From Hershey Park in Pennsylvania, comes the highly anticipated ‘Skyrush’. With high points of 200 feet and a racing speed of 75 miles per hour: riders get ready for the twists and turns, climbs and drops and scream worthy fun!
