Getting in and out of New York City can be a challenge for the people who make the commute for work everyday, but two New Jersey residents have found an interesting way of turning their morning and evening commute into an adventure: paddling across the Hudson River by kayak.

Although the two men have found a way to avoid the overwhelming traffic and ferry fees each day, they are still careful not to get in the way of the numerous ferries and boats that frequent the Hudson River.

A high school teacher in New York City also decided to buy a kayak and paddle to work from New Jersey in order to save the ferry cost each way.

Commuters in the mountains of Colombia have chosen another exciting way to travel to and from school and work. The residents of Las Piñas, including children, opt for a short zip line ride over a two hour hiking trail out of their village every day.

Norway has its own unusual transportation - since cars are banned from use on some roads, some local commuters use sled dogs to get around.
