STORY: David Beckham appeared relaxed as he received an award at the 27th annual Sports Spectacular gala in Los Angeles on Sunday (May 20). Beckham was among the top sports stars in the US honored in conjunction with an effort to combat genetic birth defects.
Singer Marc Anthony and hockey great Wayne Gretzky presented the L.A. Galaxy midfielder with his award. In the audience for the evening were Beckham's wife, Victoria, and three sons. The benefit, a fundraiser for Cedars-Sinai Medical Genetics Institute, has raised more than 21 million USD in past years.
