Deadly storm batters Europe

"Xynthia", a powerful Atlantic storm, has smashed through several European countries, including France, Spain, Portugal, Germany, and Belgium, killing scores of people.

France was hit the hardest with the storm leaving a trail of damage along the coastline.

And in northern Spain, near the city of Bilbao, strong winds fanned wild fires which have destroyed homes.

Weather forecasters say the storm is now heading for Denmark.

Al Jazeera's Tarek Bazley reports.
