The suffering of thousands of children throughout the 20th century who were supposedly being cared for by the Irish government in schools run by the Catholic church made headlines this summer after a series of reports on the abuse were released.

Last week the Irish government insisted it was not obstructing the publication of a report on a case of alleged clerical child abuse in Dublin. But victims groups fear any delay could prevent key parts of the story from ever being made public.
