Very little is known about Leonard Joy, a boadleader who made many brilliant studio recordings for Victor, many of them under the denomination of "The High Hatters". One of his usual vocalists was Frank Luther. Although it cannot be confirmed as a matter of fact, actually Nathaniel Shilkret might be directing the orchestra in this performance. The vocal trio on this this wonderful 1928 recording consists of Phil Dewey, Frank Luther and Jack Parker. In the video I used material regarding the lost 1930 film "Hold Everything" (only the Vitaphone discs survive) in which this song was used.
