A passenger train derailed in India's northern state of Haryana on Sunday injuring at least 19 people.
An Indian Railways spokesman said no deaths had been reported so far.
Indian media reported railway authorities saying at least 50 metres of the track had been found torn up at the site.
Indian Railways said the government would cover the treatment costs for the injured passengers.
India's railway network is one of the world's largest with the state-run monopoly carrying around 30 million people every day.
