Herat is considered to be be Afghanistan's most prosperous city. But its fortunes have declined since the US invasion seven years go. Flows of power and money in the country have shifted. Now, the proud army of fighters who used to defend the city's citadel are nostalgic for the days before Kabul, the capital, held so much sway. Al Jazeera's David Chater reports.
