Story line: At the core, Yeh Khula Aasman is a relationship-based motivational film that touches the audience of all ages with specific message to both the youth and their parents. It revolves around Avinash, a 12th standard student staying alone in a metro city, who does not do too well in his exams. His career-oriented parents compromise on their parenthood responsibilities to take up permanent residence in London leaving Avinash to fend for him in an emotional vacuum.
Unable to take peer and parental pressure to excel in studies and bereft of any true friends, Avinash is gets lonely and depressed. He decides to escape his routine and visit his grandfather (Dadu, played by the inimitable acting wizard Raghuvir Yadav) who has been staying alone in a small town in North India. What happens when Dadu realizes the fragile mental state of Avinash, how he enriches latter's life through simple, earthy wisdom, how he uses a kite as a metaphor for life, and how distance can silently kill family human bonds and how that can be bridged if purpose of life is found, forms the storyline.
There is scintillating music by Anand Milind, who believes this project ranks among their best compositions.
