There have been fresh skirmishes between Sudan and South Sudan as the former declared a state of emergency along its border with its neighbour. Tension has been rising between the two countries since a disputed oil field was occupied by forces from South Sudan for ten days earlier this month. The UN has called for both sides to resume talks.
