Jackie Taylor was born in Philadelphia in 1896 and with his parents moved to California. He became a member of Vincent Rose's Montmartre Orchestra. In 1925 he was back in Philadelphia but in 1927 returned to Los Angeles with Vincent Rose and recorded with him as Vincent Rose-Jackie Taylor and their Hollywood orchestra. In 1928 he has his own band and played at Cocoanut Grove Of Los Angeles Ambassador Hotel, but his link with Vincent Rose continued. Two record sessions that Taylor recorded for Victor in 1929 and 1930, were followed by another session under their combined leadership. Taylor also made movie shorts for Warner Bros. All this might lead to believe that the Jackie Taylor Orchestra of these Victor sessions, actually was the Vincent Rose orchestra under a different name.
Taylor died at 36, on october 21, 1932 in California. This lovely song was recorded in 1929. Vocal by Buster Dees.
