Spain has stepped up border security ahead of next week's European Central Bank meeting in Barcelona amid fears that foreign activists will try to join locals in staging anti-austerity protests.
It has temporarily banned passport-free travel under Europe's Schengen treaty.
The move follows violent incidents during Spain's one-day general strike in March.
