A show of unity in Oslo on the ninth day of the trial of Ander Behring Breivik .
Tens of thousands of people braved the rain to sing a popular children's song calling for fraternity and peace ridiculed by Breivik for its embrace of diversity.
Breivik has called the author of the Norwegian lyrics to 'Children of the Raindbow' a Marxist brainwasher.
SOUNDBITE: Torbjorn Sandvik saying:
"This song represents the opposite of everything he (Breivik) stands for, because this song represents getting people together, negotiate, make the world a better place."
An estimated 40,000 people gathered for the event in Oslo's central square and there were reports of other sing-alongs in towns throughout the country.
The 33-year Breivik has denied criminal guilt in the killing of 77 people last, insisting his victims were "traitors" who were allowing Norway to be overrun by Muslims.
