Fighting in the Central African Republic is putting an increasing strain on an already volatile region.

Most of the unrest takes place in the north of the country, where the government has been fighting several armed groups.

Bandits and thieves also plague the northern areas, stealing livestock and burning down villages.

Tens of thousands of people have already fled across the border into neighbouring Chad.
