Occupying While Black: Introduction Pt. 1

I was inspired to create this blog after hearing about the experience of an Occupy RVA member being harassed by police after a rally for Women's Rights in Richmond, VA. His experience made me curious about the black #ows experience. I found out that that blacks only make up about 1.2% of those involved in Occupy Wall Street. I asked myself "Why aren't blacks occupying?", and came across Occupy The Hood Movement and Occupy The Dream which are predominantly African Americans. During the series, I explore those two movements along with Occupy Wall Street and Occupy Richmond. I also explore the Tea Party and compare and contrast their movement with Occupy Wall Street. While putting the project together I kept being reminded of the American Revolution and throughout the video I talk about things we can do as "Americans" to liberate ourselves big government and Wall Street. Thank you for taking out the time to view my series and please leave comments and share with friends.
