Amateur video out of Syria shows crowds swarming UN monitors in Douma.

The video, which could not be independently verified by Reuters comes after the U.N. Security Council approved the expansion of the monitoring mission to 300 observers.

Footage purportedly out of Hama shows smoke rising from buildings. Activists say Syrian forces shelled parts of the city killing at least 20 people. The incident comes a day after UN observers were on site.

Video from other parts of the country shows demonstrators back on the street. The United Nations says more than 9,000 people have been killed in Syria since the uprising began more than a year ago. The Syrian government says 2,500 members of its security forces have been killed in the unrest.
