Dick Clark has died at age 82. The veteran TV host and producer suffered a heart attack following an outpatient procedure at a California hospital. Most famous for his decades of hosting "American Bandstand" and a live New Year's Eve show from New York's Times Square, Clark's health had been in decline ever since he suffered a stroke in 2004.
Clark's death was the topic of conversation at the Los Angeles premiere of "Bernie," where Shirley MacLaine and Jack Black walked the red carpet. MacLaine didn't mince words when asked about Clark's death.
SOUNDBITE: Shirley MacLaine saying (English):
"Well now I can walk past his house in Malibu and his dogs won't attack mine. That's one good thing."
