Georgia's breakaway region of South Ossetia has a new president following the inauguration of Leonid Tibilov, a former KGB security chief.
The Russian backed candidate won a repeat election after the results of a poll last November, won by an opposition candidate were annulled.
Georgia described the election as illegal.
