ROUGH CUT (NO REPORTER NARRATION)

STORY: The Tribeca Film Festival got off to a humorous start with the new romantic comedy "The Five Year Engagement" in New York on Wednesday (April 18).

The feature film is one of over 80 movies being shown during the 12 day event and stars Jason Segel and Emily Blunt as an engaged couple struggling to make it to the altar. The duo's on-screen chemistry is not just movie magic, Blunt and Segel have been friends for years and even live down the street from each other.

The theme of familiarity ran throughout the production, with Segel teaming up with Judd Apatow, producer of "Bridesmaids" and "Forgetting Sarah Marshall"for the fourth time. In addition, Segel co-wrote the film with director Nicholas Stoller.

One of the scenes from the film that is getting the most buzz actually ended up on the cutting room floor. While shooting, Segel filmed a scene that featured naked. At the premiere the actor explained why the footage was dropped.

The film kicks off the 11th edition of the Tribeca Film Festival which was co-founded by actor Robert De Niro in 2002. For Segel, just the thought of coming in contact with De Niro was overwhelming: "I heard a rumor that Robert De Niro might be here and I think I might freak out."

The English actress will have two films showing at the film festival this year. After Wednesday night's gala, Blunt will walk the carpet for her movie "Your Sister's Sister" on Thursday (April 19).

The Tribeca Film Festival will run from April 18 - April 28.
