STORY: The Queen of Soul gave a roaring rendition of her signature hit, "Respect" at the TV Land Awards in New York City.
The annual show, more commonly the meeting point for cast reunions of "Welcome Back, Kotter" and "The Love Boat," hosted a special performance by Aretha Franklin for its 10th anniversary.
After her performance, Franklin was given the TV Land Icon Award by singer John Legend.
"Thank you for sharing your incomparable voice with the world," Legend said.
"It is my honor to share this stage with you and present the TV Land Icon Award to a true legend."
During the event, the 70-year-old Franklin also performed "Chain of Fools," "I Came To Lift Him Up," and "Ombra Mai Fu."
