Nour Odeh reports from Gaza that shops, schools and businesses across Gaza have closed in defiance of Hamas as workers support a one-day general strike.
The action was called by the Palestinian Liberation Organisation in response to violence on Friday when Hamas security broke up outdoor prayer gatherings.
