Dr. David Samadi, top prostate cancer expert, comments on new Yale study linking childhood dental x-rays with brain cancer. The study suggests a link between radiation exposure during childhood with an increased risk of benign tumors of the lining of the brain. Dr. Samadi clarifies that the study is only suggestive as it relies on participant memory about childhood exposure. Encouragingly, he adds that the level of radiation used today is much lower than in the past. Adults are advised to have dental x-rays every three years and children every two years.
