Portman, Depp star in Paul McCartney's video

Few people can attract celebrity guests to debut a three minute music video.

And even less can get Natalie Portman and Johnny Depp to star in it.

But Paul McCartney pulls off both with the video for his latest single "My Valentine".

The former Beatle directed it and features the Oscar-winning actress doing sign language, while the Oscar-nominated actor strums soulfully on the guitar.

McCartney, with newly wed wife Nancy Shevell in tow, threw a classic Hollywood bash to launch the video.

Gwen Stefani, Gwenyth Paltrow and Kristin Stewart were amongst the stars attending the event, thrown at the store of Paul's fashion designer daughter Stella.

She gave the music video a thumbs up.

"I think it's really classy actually. I think it has a great purity to it and it's very simple, and for me, you know, less is always more and I think he really captures that."

The song features on Paul's 15th solo studio album, a collection of jazz-infused songs and inspired by his father, "Kisses on the Bottom".

When asked what he wanted people to take away from the video, he remained humble.

SOUNDBITE: Paul McCartney, saying (English):

"Yeah, yeah, I don't know -- that they like it, that they think it's a good performance, that they like the song, and that they love the world, and 'Peace.'"
