Around the world, iOS devices have been reportedly bricked as a result of this situation. The problem appears to be linked to devices being updated or restored to iOS 4.3.3, which is the most recent iOS release from Apple.

Apple users have since reported that the activation servers are back online and their phones are working once again. If you haven't updated your iDevice yet, it's probably a good idea to wait until the matter has been addressed as officially resolved by Apple.
