ROUGH CUT (NO REPORTER NARRATION)
STORY: Britain's Queen Elizabeth visited the city of York Thursday together with her husband Prince Philip and their granddaughter Princess Beatrice of York.
The royal party attended a Royal Maundy church service at York Minster conducted by John Sentamu, the Archbishop of York.
During the service, the Queen distributed the traditional Royal Maundy money to pensioners from all over Britain. This year she gave money to 86 women and 86 men, one for each of her 86 years.
Each recipient received two purses, one red and one white.
The red purse contained 5 pound coin commemorating the Queen's Diamond Jubilee, and a 50 pence coin. The white purse contained uniquely minted Maundy Money. All coins have been minted in 2012.
The recipients are retired pensioners recommended by clergy and ministers of all denominations in recognition of service to the church and to the community.
