This deal resulted in waves of fans and music lovers flocking to the online music store to place orders and subsequently overwhelming Amazon's servers. Despite technical difficulties, this experiment may have sparked a new trend in the music industry.

A $0.99 album, especially one that is still on top of the charts, has been all but unheard of until now. Could this be the first sign of a heated price war between the Amazon Music Store and iTunes?
