Unauthorized Jewish settlers in the Israeli occupied West Bank have caused divisions within the Israeli government. Although the settlers were evicted, the Israeli Prime Minister has confirmed his aim to strengthen West Bank Jewish settlements.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu emphasized on Wednesday that the government will strengthen Jewish settlements in the West Bank.
This followed an unusual procedure earlier in the day, where Israeli police evicted Jewish settlers from a building in the West Bank city of Hebron.
The 15 unauthorized settlers say they bought the property from a Palestinian.
However, defense Minister Ehud Barak, leader of the centrist party, pushed for eviction.
Netanyahu's mainly right-wing cabinet wanted to give the settlers more time to produce evidence they owned the property which has been disputed by Palestinian authorities.
[Benjamin Netanyahu, Israeli Prime Minister]:
"This is the principle that guides us - we are strengthening the Jewish settlement in Judea and Samaria, and we are strengthening the Jewish settlement in Hebron, city of our fathers, it is not less important for me. But there is another principle which we follow - we do all of this according to the law and we will continue to do so."
A Right wing activist accusing Netanyahu of not supporting the settlers.

"As we see, the racist policy of the Israeli government is continuing and the only place in the world that a Jew cannot buy a house in the holy state of Israel, in the holy city of Hebron. And that because Netanyahu is a big talker and a small doer."
