Many companies still rely on traditional IT infrastructure, but also need the flexability of private cloud configuration with self-service infrastrcture, as well as public cloud service providers. HP Cloud System combined with cloud bursting allows for one management environment to hand deployment in traditional infrastructure, a private cloud, a public cloud, or a hybrid combination of the three. Two practical applications of this cloud bursting ability are being able to get additional capacity on demand when local capacity runs out, as well as being able to effectively manage deployment to a remote service provider without needing to build all of the infrastructure to make it happen. LockerGnome's Jake Ludington spoke with HP Cloud Advisor, Nick van der Zweep, at VMworld 2011 about what cloud bursting is.
