Decorah Eagles 1st Hatch Of The 2012 Season

2012-03-29 1

This is several hours of video footage I edited down to a little over 4 minutes of The Decorah Bald Eagles 1st Hatch of the 2012 season. It all started on the 26th of March when the first pip (hole in the egg) was discovered. On the 27th the little one started to hatch. Over the course of the day we would catch glimpses of the eaglet emerging from the shell. The Raptor Resource Project has a web cam mounted 80 feet up in a cottonwood tree, in Decorah Iowa, focused on this pair of Bald Eagles. The camera allows millions of viewers to tune in and watch 24/7 as the eagles raise their young. This cam is the most viewed web cam on the internet. This eaglet will be called D12. D for Decorah and beginning at 12 honors the 11 known successful fledges from this nest. The web cam streams audio and video from a website called Ustream.tv. Here's the link if you want to tune in and watch. I know you will love it. www.ustream.tv/decoraheagles
