Yemenis want justice for slain US teacher

Demonstrators march in support of slain American teacher Joel Shrun in the Yemeni city of Taiz.

They're calling for justice, after he was shot by gunmen linked to al Qaeda.

(SOUNDBITE) (Arabic) UNIDENTIFIED PROTESTER, SAYING:

"We reject the killing of foreigners in our country and we demand an arrest for murder."

(SOUNDBITE) (English) UNIDENTIFIED FORMER STUDENT FROM THE SWEDISH INSTITUTE, SAYING:

"They came all the way from their homelands, only to teach and to help Yemen and Yemenis. They came with nothing but good intentions. And Mr Joel, I believe, he did nothing to be killed for.

Police say a gunman shot the English teacher from the back of a motorcycle, and escaped after the attack.
