It's not easy being the queen, but at least it's easier to make one -- on paper.

The Duchess of Cambridge, and her in-laws Prince Charles and the Duchess of Cornwall Camilla, showed their artistic side at a children's arts charity in south London on Thursday (March 15).

Catherine wore a grey dress by Irish designer Orla Kiely.

They toured the Prince's Foundation for Children and the Arts with Catherine herself a patron of the arts.

The royals also met with children who are taking part in the Great Art Quest, a project which partners youngsters with local galleries and artists.

They also watched youngsters painting pictures to be submitted to the Face Britain project, which if chosen, will be part of a montage of the Queen to be projected onto Buckingham Palace as part of the Diamond Jubilee celebrations in June.
