The EU's Economic and Monetary Affairs Commissioner Ollie Rehn, on a two-day visit to Portugal, has said the country is on track to reverse its fiscal situation.
However he said it must stick to the tough budget deficit goals agreed with Brussels despite the country being in a deep recession. Neighbour Spain says it will relax its goals this year in defiance of the European Commission.
