A bus carrying a group of Belgian tourists crashed into the wall of a tunnel in the Valais region of Switzerland on Tuesday night, killing at least 28 people.
Police said 22 children were counted among the dead.
The bus was carrying 52 people.
The tourists were returning to Belgium from a Swiss skiing holiday when the accident happened.
Twenty-four children were also injured in the wreck, some of them badly, and were being treated in hospital.
The two drivers of the bus were also killed.
Police said the cause of the accident was not yet known.
