This twisted metalwork is all that's left of a makeshift tent after a fire that killed eleven of the 15 people sleeping inside.

The blaze happened at the site of a shopping mall under construction in the Turkish city of Istanbul.

The victims were construction workers.

Grieving relatives of the dead gathered outside the mortuary where their remains were taken.

Forensic experts are combing through the debris to find out what caused the fire.

An electric heater was being used at the time.

Some suggest an electrical short circuit may have started the blaze which also spread to two other tents.
