We begin today with news out of northwest China. According to state-run media Xinhua, a dozen people are dead in the city of Yecheng, located in the Xinjiang Autonomous Region. Xinhua says ten Muslim Uighur terrorists attacked civilians with knives. Two of them were killed by police. Another two were also reported to have been killed, but there are no details about those deaths as of yet.
Chinese authorities blame Uighur Muslim separatists, alleging that the Uighur attackers are terrorists. But the World Uyghur Congress says that the Chinese regime is trying to make the global community believe that Uighur Muslims are terrorists, in order to deflect criticism of the regime's human rights abuses in Xinjiang.
