Venezulean president Hugo Chavez has left for Cuba, where he will have new cancer surgery.
He bid farewell to anxious supporters, vowing to return for victory in the country's October elections.
Chavez will have an operation to remove a “lesion” in the same pelvic area where a tumour was previously found.
