Thirteen year-old Marta (Yile Vianello) has recently moved back to southern Italy with her mother and older sister and struggles to find her place, restlessly testing the boundaries of an unfamiliar city and the catechism of the Catholic church.
Corpo Celeste marks a variety of debuts: the first feature for director and Camera d’Or contender, Alice Rohrwacher; the first film for school girl Yile Vianello and her co-star, housewife and mother of two, Pasqualina Scuncia; and the first production of Carlo Cresto-Dina’s new company, tempesta.
