Libyans have been celebrating the first anniversary of the uprising against Colonel Muammar Gaddafi.
The celebrations have been centered on Benghazi,, the city where that first day of rage took place one year ago.
Numerous checkpoints were set up in Benghazi and Tripoli to ensure no security threats would disrupt the celebrations.
