At least five Palestinian children were killed on Thursday when their school bus overturned and caught fire after colliding with a truck.
Around another 40 people were injured.
A paramedic at the scene said that it appeared the two vehicles crashed head on in the rain on a "very steep and slippery" stretch of road near Jerusalem.
(SOUNDBITE) (Hebrew) ISRAELI PARAMEDIC SHALOM GALIL SAYING:
"What happened here, as you can see in the pictures, is a very steep road with rain and oil. We assume that either the bus or the truck slipped and crashed into each other."
The injured children have been ferried to a hospital in Ramallah for treatment.
Local Israeli media has put the death toll as high as 10.
